In Secret Garden, it's a habit of Joo Won to recite that tongue twister in order to clear his mind and distract him from thinking about Ra Im or other things. I don't know about you but I really want to recite it with him whenever he does it.
Thanks to -eunha- at soompi who posted the words so that we can recite along with Joo Won next time he does it, eh? Here it is:
kim su-han-mu guh-bu-ki-wa du-ru-mi sam-chun-kab-ja-dong-bang-sak chi-chi-ka-po sa-li-sa-li saen-ta wuh-li-wuh-li sae-bu-li-kang mu-du-sael-la gu-ruum-ee huh-li-kae-een dam-byuh-lak suh-sang-won go-yang-ee ba-duk-ee-nun dol-dol-ee
What does this mean? I got this from otayamin.wordpress.com [many thanks!]:
Thanks to Naver Jishik’s 76shkim님 and 액터정님, here are the explanations to those fateful 80 words:
김수한무 (金 壽限無 : 김은 성이고 목숨에 한계가 없다는 뜻)Kim Soo-han-moo : it’s Hanja literally means surname ‘Kim’, ‘Age-is-Infinite’.거북이와 두루미 : 십장생중 오래 사는 넘들이죠Keo-bu-gi-wa du-ru-mi: the tortoise and the crane (bird, not machine), 2 of the traditional 10 symbols of longevity.삼천갑자 동방삭 : 옛날 중국에 三千甲子(180000년)를 살았던 동방삭이라는 사람이 있었데요Sam-cheon-gab-ja Dong Bang Sak: long time ago, there lived a guy called Dong Bang Sak in China. And who wants the sms of Ra Im with Joo Won's voice? Here's the download link as provided in the forums of soompi too. If it won't play on your usual player, try it with another. I tried playing it via winamp and it didn't work, but i tried it at vlc and it did.
Edit: download link for kimsuhanmu provided by nurul in this post here.

ReplyDeletethanks a lot Nurul! : )
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it sound like Kim-Suh-Ah. I believe the drama has the same writers from the drama City Hall, with Kim Sun Ah, which they also reference in SG.
ReplyDeletehehe, yeah it does, but i thought this was already an existing chant/tongue twister in Korea? or was it just made for SG?
ReplyDeleteWell, in the drama, City Hall, the character played by Kim Suh Ah mentions Hyun Bin as an old boyfriend (referencing My lovely Kim Sam Soon drama, where KSA & HB were a couple) so maybe the writers thought it would be cute for Hyun Bin to mention Kim Suh Ah through the tongue twister. Maybe the actual City Hall & Kim Suh Ah insert was placed to recognize the name in the t-twister. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteThanks, now I get it ^___^
ReplyDeleteI'm halfway through remembering this tongue twister, thanks for all the hard work!
ReplyDeleteHi! thanks for sharing the "lyrics" of Kim Soo Han Moo. i've been trying my best to look for this for quite sometime and i just found it here. THANKS! :)
